No Smoking in Cars with Children

An advertising campaign has been launched to alert the NSW community of the ban on smoking in cars when children under 16 years are present.

Newspaper advertisements, radio, bus backs and outdoor billboards are being used to raise awareness of the new law which bans smoking in cars when children are present.

The new law comes into effect on 1 July, and is aimed at protecting children from the harmful effects of second hand tobacco smoke.

Other changes to the tobacco laws will affect retailers of tobacco products. Information for retailers is being circulated through industry publications. For more information on how the law changes will affect Tobacco Retailers click here.
