Clinical Safety Strategy and Standards

The Clinical Safety Strategy and Standards Unit has a particular focus on the development of compliance standards for such areas as healthcare associated infections, health care records, patient identification, high risk medicines, environmental cleaning and hand hygiene, with advice from relevant sectors of the health system. CSSS also develops policy for statewide projects such as the Between the Flags Program, antimicrobial stewardship and central line associated bacteraemia work in intensive care.
