Monitoring activities

The NSW Health Private Health Care Unit monitors and ensures compliance with licensing standards under the:

  • Private Health Facilities Act 2007
  • Private Health Facilities Regulation 2010

The Unit activities include onsite visits, paper audits, telephone or written contact. The type of audit conducted may be routine or focus on a particular area. All facilities receive regular visits to ensure compliance.

After each audit a report is sent to the facility that may ask for improvements to be made. The Unit continues to monitor the facility to follow up on the progress of these improvements.
