Information and Communications Technology
Strategic Information Management Branch is responsible for developing the NSW Health Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Strategy. NSW Health's integrated suite of clinical and corporate IT systems enhances patient safety and improves quality of care.
The ICT Strategy:
- co-ordinates state-wide standards and directions for ICT that support innovation and provide benefits for all NSW Health
- procures, builds and implements state-wide technology solutions that streamline and complement the work of health professionals
- establishes business processes to ensure that the change is sustainable
- reviews and approves state and Area initiatives to ensure that ICT investment is consistent with the state-wide strategy
The new ICT systems will allow clinicians and other healthcare professionals to focus on the core business of providing patient care.
