Nursing and midwifery scholarships and grants on offer
There is a range of scholarships and grants on offer in NSW for people considering a career in nursing or midwifery. Opening and closing dates, criteria, application forms and links to other nursing scholarship providers are available at nursing and midwifery scholarships.

PRACTICE IMPROVEMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
Judith Meppem Scholarships
Provide an opportunity for nurses and midwives to undertake a study tour to observe and learn about innovative and best practice in nursing and or midwifery. The Judith Meppem Scholarships are valued up to $AUD 12,000 each.
Innovation Scholarships
Innovation Scholarships are up to $AUD 15,000 awarded to nurses and midwives across the state to implement models of care and new approaches that will drive improvements in areas of the health system and improve patient care.
EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS
Aboriginal Post Enrolment Scholarships
Available for Aboriginal Enrolled Nurses who undertake a VETAB accredited course.
Aboriginal Postgraduate Scholarships
Scholarships are available for Aboriginal Nurses or Midwives to assist with educational expenses directly associated with postgraduate study.
Aboriginal Undergraduate Scholarships
Scholarships are available for Aboriginal students undertaking a Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Midwifery.
Rural Undergraduate Scholarships
Awarded to first year students from a rural location undertaking a Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Midwifery degree.
Enrolled Nurse to Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife Undergraduate Scholarships
For Enrolled Nurses employed in a permanent full time or part time position within the NSW public health system, who undertake a Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Midwifery degree. Priority may be given to Enrolled Nurses employed in areas of need such as mental health and rural locations.
Undergraduate Clinical Placement Grants
These grants are provided to assist with travel and accommodation costs directly associated with Clinical Placements done in a public health facility for students undertaking a Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Midwifery.
Post Graduate Scholarships
Available to permanent full time or part time Registered Nurses or Registered Midwives employed and currently working in the NSW public health system, to assist with educational expenses directly associated with postgraduate study.
Post Enrolment Scholarships
Awarded to Enrolled Nurses employed and currently working in the NSW public health system who undertake an Advanced Diploma.
Enrolled Nurse Medication Administration Scholarships
For Enrolled Nurses currently working in the NSW public health system who undertake a gap training for medication administration endorsement. The feasibility of continuing this scholarship will be determined in 2012.
