Drug and Alcohol clinical guidelines

Background

Nursing and Midwifery Office (NaMO) worked with NSW Health's Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol Office to launch clinical guidelines for all nurses and midwives to have the knowledge and skills to perform a comprehensive substance use assessment and to offer suitable interventions.

The Clinical Guidelines and accompanying NSW Drug and Alcohol Withdrawal Clinical Practice Guidelines assist nurses and midwives to identify patients at risk of, or experiencing, problems associated with substance use, such as intoxication, withdrawal and related health and social issues.
