NSW Mothers and Babies 2000

Summary

This report on mothers and babies in NSW combines the annual reports of the NSW Midwives Data Collection, the Neonatal Intensive Care Units' Data Collection, the NSW Birth Defects Register and information on maternal deaths.

The report includes a full chapter on recent trends, and separate chapters covering Health Area of mother's residence, Aboriginal mothers and babies, mother's country or region of birth, birth defects and individual hospitals. The results of a study carried out on risk-adjusted rates for caesarean sections in NSW hospitals are also included.
