Access Economics Report: Projections of dementia prevalence and incidence in NSW: 2009 - 2050
SummaryAccess Economics was commissioned by the Alzheimer's Australia NSW, NSW Health and the Department of Human Services NSW to provide updated dementia projections to 2050 by Area Health Service and Ageing, Disability and Home Care Region. The purpose of this report is to identify areas in NSW that are expected to experience the greatest increase in dementia cases. This will assist government agencies in planning future dementia services with the aim of improving the quality of life for all people in NSW living with dementia, their families and carers. The updated projections follow release of a national report by Alzheimer's Australia in September 2009 Keeping Dementia Front of Mind: Incidence and Prevalence 2009 - 2050.
