Through the work of the Bilateral Agreement we are working in partnership with primary health networks, local health districts, pillars and the Ministry of Health towards the development of a multidisciplinary team care framework and, in time, a broader systems integration capability development framework for NSW.

What is capability development?

Capability development is a critical component of the developing performance process. To ensure the process is meaningful and worthwhile, capabilities requiring development within current roles must be identified, career aspirations must be progressed, and effective ways to develop these capabilities must be negotiated.

What is capacity development?

Capacity development is the process through which individuals, organisations and societies obtain, strengthen and maintain the capabilities to set and achieve their own development objectives over time. Capacity is about growth of the individual in knowledge, skills and experience.
A capability framework is a set of detailed and behaviourally-specific descriptions of the key behaviours, and underlying skills, knowledge, abilities and attributes, which are required for successful performance in an organisation or a team.
