Public access to defibrillation

NSW Health is committed to determining an evidence-based method of improving outcomes from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation can play an important role in the ‘chain of survival’ for people who experience out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

An Expert Advisory Group established by the NSW Ministry of Health and NSW Ambulance led a review on Public Access to Defibrillation, to advise on potential initiatives for providing access to defibrillation.
